Area of the total room = 24 x 14 = 336 sq ft
Measurements of the room without the border will be (24 - 1x2) = 22 ft by (14 - 1x2) = 12 ft.
Therefore, Area of the room without the border = 22 x 12 = 264 sq ft
So, the area of the border = 336 - 264 = 72 sq ft.
Then, the number of tiles required = 72/1 = 72.
